Blender 2D Mouth Rig with Curves and Textures

I built this mouth rig with curves and textures in Blender 3D. Deforming curves with bones is far more easy and flexible then deforming a grease pencil object with an armature. With curves you can manipulate the bezier-points directly and intuitively and the result is more accurate. The curve object has a material on it with layered images (teeth, background and tongue).
